Under it, an amount of Rs 12,000 would be transferred to the account of each of the selected number of laborers employed across around 6.5 lakh commercial setups and 20,500 factories and workshops in the state to undertake the journey to religious places.UP Government Encourage the children of workersThe UP government this year will start two more schemes — one named after former India cricketer Chetan Chauhan to encourage sporting activities among labourers and the other named after famous litterateur Mahadevi Verma to help poor students purchase books.Under the “Mahadevi Varma Pustak Krya Arthik Sahayata Yojana (महादेवी वर्मा पुस्तक क्रय आर्थिक सहायता योजना)”, financial assistance of Rs. 7.5 thousand will be provided to the daughters of laborers working in factories to buy books in higher education.The government has also announced help for the children of workers doing well in sports. Under this, an incentive amount of Rs 10 thousand will be given for selection at the district level, Rs 25 thousand at the state level, Rs 50 thousand at the national level and Rs 1 lakh for selection at the international level. Instructions were given to constitute a committee under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate for the selection of beneficiaries. The Regional Deputy Labor Commissioner and District Sports Officer will be included in the committee as members. |
