This scheme has been launched to encourage employers to create new jobs. Under this scheme, EPF and EPS will be paid by the government. This scheme will be launched from 1st April 2018. Earlier this facility was available only for EPS. Under this scheme, 8.33% EPS will be contributed by the government and 3.67% EPF will be contributed. The benefit of Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana can be availed only for new employment. There are twofold benefits of this scheme, on one hand incentives will be provided to the employer for creating employment under this scheme and on the other hand employment opportunities will be generated through this scheme.
1.21 crore beneficiaries got the benefit of the scheme
The Pradhan Mantri Rozgar Protsahan Yojana is being operated by the government since 2016 . Employers are encouraged to create new jobs through this scheme. For all those employees who get salary of ₹ 15000 or less, 12% of Employer Contribution is provided by the Government of India for 3 years. This information was provided by the Minister of State for Labor and Employment, Rameshwar Teli on 6 December 2021. The last date for registration under this scheme was fixed as 31 March 2019. which has now been extended. All those beneficiaries who got themselves registered by 31st March 2019 will get the benefit under the scheme for 3 years from the date of registration.
About 20 lakh beneficiaries were estimated to be benefited through this scheme. Till 27 November 2021, 1.21 crore beneficiaries have been benefited through 1.53 lakh establishments. Extension of Prime Minister’s Employment Promotion Scheme
This scheme was started to promote employment across the country. Under this scheme, 12% EPF and EPS will be paid by the government on the appointment of a new employee for 3 years. This payment will be made through EPFO on behalf of the government appointee. On 10 March 2021, it has been announced by the Minister of State and Labor Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar that the benefits of Pradhanmantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana 2022 will now be extended to 1.21 crore beneficiaries. This benefit will be done through 1.52 lakh institutions. All those beneficiaries who had registered before 31st March 2019 will also be provided this scheme benefit for 3 years.
