Pradhanmantri Scholarship Scheme 2022
This scheme has been started by the Central Government. Through this scheme, scholarship will be provided to the children and widows of police personnel, Assam Rifles, RPF and RPSF who have died due to terrorist or Naxalite attack or during their service. Apart from this, if the police personnel, Assam Rifles, RPF and RPSF have been disabled through this scheme, then in this situation their children will also be provided scholarship. Scholarship ranging from ₹ 2000 to ₹ 3000 is provided through this scheme. To get the benefit of this scheme, it is mandatory for the students to get 60% marks in class 12th. Students studying abroad will not be provided the benefit of this scheme.
Only students pursuing education in recognized institutions can take advantage of the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme. All those citizens who want to take advantage of this scheme can apply under this scheme through the National Scholarship Portal.
Purpose of Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme
The main objective of Pradhanmantri Scholarship Scheme 2022 is to provide scholarship to those police personnel, children and widows of Assam Rifles, RPF and RPSF who have died during terrorist attack, Naxalite attack or service. Through this scheme, scholarship will be provided to the children of police personnel, Assam Rifles, RPF and RPSF who have become disabled. Now children will not have to face financial constraints to get education. Because scholarship will be provided to them by the central government to provide education . Now every child of the country will be able to get education. Apart from this, this scheme will also prove to be effective in reducing the unemployment rate and increasing the literacy rate of the country.

Types of Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme
Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles-
The Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme has been launched by the Central Government for the children of soldiers of Police Forces and Assam Rifles. Through this scheme, scholarships ranging from Rs 2.5 thousand per month to Rs 3000 per month will be provided to the beneficiaries. This scholarship will be paid annually. ₹ 36000 to each girl student and ₹ 30000 to the student will be provided through this scheme. About 2000 scholarships will be provided annually under this scheme. Out of which 1000 scholarships will be given to boys and 1000 scholarships to girls.
Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for the children of State/UT policemen who were martyred in terrorism/Naxal attack –
The benefit of this scheme will be provided to the children of all those policemen who have been martyred in terrorism or naxal attacks. Through this scheme, scholarship will be distributed to the beneficiaries through the National Defense Fund. If the beneficiary is a girl student, then she will be given a scholarship of ₹ 3000 per month and if the beneficiary is a student, she will be given a scholarship of Rs 2500 thousand per month. About 500 scholarships will be distributed through this scheme, in which 250 will be given to girl students and 250 to students.
Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme for RPF/RPSF –
The scheme was launched on 15 August 2005. So that the children of RPF and RPSF can be encouraged to get higher education. 150 scholarships are disbursed every year through this scheme. Out of which 75 scholarships are given to girl students and 75 scholarships are given to students. Under this scheme, an amount of ₹ 2250 per month is distributed to the girl students and ₹ 2000 per month to the students.

Benefits and Features of Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme
The Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme has been started by the Central Government.
Through this scheme, scholarship will be provided to the children and widows of those policemen, Assam Rifle, RPF and RPSF who have died due to terrorist or Naxalite attack or during their service.
Apart from this, if policemen, Assam Rifle, RPF and RPSF have been disabled through this scheme, then in this situation also scholarship will be provided to their children.
Scholarship ranging from ₹ 2000 to ₹ 3000 will be provided through this scheme.
It is mandatory for the students to get 60% marks in class 12th to get the benefits of the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme.
Students studying abroad will not be provided the benefit of this scheme.
Apart from this, the benefit of this scheme will be provided to only those students who are pursuing education through recognized institutions.
To take advantage of this scheme, application will be made through the National Scholarship Portal.
Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme Priority Order
If the number of applications exceeds the number of student persons available, the order of preference for scholarship applications will be as follows.

Where there is delay on the part of the candidate in submitting the application for renewal of scholarship. Dependent wards of those policemen who have died due to terrorist or naxal attack for State Police Force can get the benefit of this scheme. The benefit of this scheme can be availed by the applicant only when he has taken admission in professional degree for the first time. It is mandatory to obtain at least 60% marks in 12th class, Diploma, Graduation Equivalent. It is mandatory to obtain 50% marks in each academic year in case of renewal. Relaxation of 1 year only for those cases considered on FB Where there is delay on the part of the candidate in submitting the application for renewal of scholarship.

The applicant must be a permanent resident of India. The applicant must be a ward of RPF/RPSF. Only those students are eligible to avail the benefits of the scheme who have taken admission in the regular course. It is mandatory for the student to obtain at least 60% marks in class 12th / Diploma / Graduation etc. Only 2 children of a family are eligible to get the benefit of this scheme. The benefit of this scheme cannot be availed for getting education outside the country.

Application under Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme
The application under the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme will be made from the National Scholarship Portal from the session 2017-18.
To apply, the applicant must apply before 30 September every year.
The list of all eligible beneficiaries will be prepared by the nodal department before October 20.
It is mandatory to enter the mobile number to register on the National Scholarship Portal.
Registration can be done for two persons from one mobile number.

Online Process Flow for Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme
Firstly the student has to apply through the National Scholarship Portal.
After that all the important documents have to be uploaded.
A system generated registration number will be provided to the student.
This registration number can be used by the student to get other information related to his/her application.
The student has to check all the information from his college and institute before entering the information in the application form.
After this, all the information provided by the student will be verified by the nodal department.
The information of all the identified students will be provided to PFMS and MHA.
After that the amount of scholarship will be calculated.
After calculating the scholarship amount, the amount will be disbursed to the student’s account through Direct Benefit Transfer.
Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme Payment Process
The amount of benefit under this scheme will be distributed through Direct Benefit Transfer under Public Finance Management System.
To get the scholarship amount, it is mandatory for the student’s account to be seeded with the Aadhar number.
Applications under this scheme will be accepted through the National Scholarship Portal.
Students can track their application status and scholarship receipt through the system generated registration number.
If any of the information provided by the student is found to be incorrect then the scholarship will not be awarded to the student. The recovery of the scholarship awarded will also be done in this situation and applications for scholarship will also not be accepted in the coming time.
In case the wrong account details have been entered by the student by mistake, the facility will be provided by the students to change their bank account details once.
Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme Exclusions
The benefit of this scheme will not be provided to those students who are pursuing education abroad.
If the student changes the college of his course and new admission is taken, then in this situation the scholarship amount will not be provided to the student.
Scholarship will not be provided to the student pursuing education in those institutions which are not approved under UGC, Medical Council of India, AICTE etc.
The benefit of the scholarship scheme cannot be obtained even for those courses in which the degree will not be awarded.
If the student is already getting the benefit of any scholarship scheme, then in this situation the benefit of this scheme will not be provided.
Those students who are doing professional courses through Correspondence or Distance Learning will also not be provided the benefit of this scheme.
Some important instructions for the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme
It will be the sole responsibility of the applicant to ensure that he/she is eligible to apply and fulfills all the conditions prescribed for the scholarship.
If during the investigation it is found that the student is ineligible to get the benefit of this scheme, the scholarship will be canceled in the circumstances. Disciplinary action will also be taken against the ineligible student. Apart from this, he/she will be blacklisted to get benefits of Central Government sponsored scholarship for a period of 5 years.
If all the important information is not filled by the student in the application form or all the important documents are not uploaded then the application will be canceled in this situation.
The student has to enter all the information carefully. In case of mistake, no changes will be made in the form.
It is mandatory for the student to provide his/her mobile number and email address.
