Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme , financially health insurance is being provided by the Government of India to the poor and backward families of the country to overcome the major health problems. This was done in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on the day of Baba Bhim Rao Ambedkar Jayanti in April 2018 and has been implemented across the country on 25 September 2018 on the birthday of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay. Under the PMJAY scheme , the central government is providing health insurance assistance of Rs 5 lakh annually to the poor families of the country.

Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana

35 lakh cards provided under Ayushman CAPF scheme

Under this scheme, about 35 lakh Ayushman health cards have been provided by the central government to CAPF personnel and their families. All CAPF personnel and their families can avail cashless treatment from 24000 hospitals in the country. This information was provided by Union Minister Nityanand Rai on 5 January 2022. There will be no expenditure limit for each personnel of Central Armed Police Forces such as CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF etc. Except Assam Rifles and NSG.

• This scheme will ensure good healthcare for CRPF personnel and their families. Cashless medical facilities can be availed through 24000 channelized hospitals through this scheme.

Objective of Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Yojana 2022

In the poor families of our country, due to financial constraints, if someone has a major illness, they are unable to get treatment in hospitals and are unable to bear the cost of treatment . They can get free treatment in hospitals and remove the health problems of poor families and reduce the death rate due to disease. Through Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana 2022 , financial assistance is provided to the economically weaker poor families of the country by providing health insurance.

The scope of Ayushman Bharat scheme will be increased

The government has decided to expand the scope of Ayushman Bharat scheme . Apart from this, this scheme will also be linked with other government schemes. Various possibilities are also being considered by the government for the development of this scheme. It has also been decided by the central government to increase the budget of health care. This information was provided by Dr. Pal, member of NITI Aayog, while addressing the inaugural session of Pakki Hill 2021, a program organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and NITI Aayog. Apart from this, he also called for strengthening the infrastructure of industry and health sector. Work is being done to improve this scheme. He has also appealed to all those hospitals which are not yet connected to this scheme.

• State governments are also planning to increase the budget for health care. At present, this budget is 4.5%, which is planned to be increased to 8%. So that the healthcare sector can be developed. He has also appealed to all the private sectors to provide suggestions for next year’s budget.
• Dr. Pal while giving his view also said that the district hospital should also be considered for converting into a medical college. So that human resources are promoted. He appealed to all the private sectors to also increase the focus on DNB education so that the number of specialist doctors in the country increases.

Inauguration of Arogya Manthan 3.0

On 23 September 2021, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya will inaugurate the third anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Which will be celebrated as Arogya Manthan 3.0. This year Gath is also celebrated as Ayushman Bharat Diwas. According to the statement issued by the National Health Authority, Arogya Manthan 3.0 will be celebrated from 23 September 2021 to 25 September 2021. The concluding session with the national rollout of the Prime Minister’s Digital Health Mission will be organized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 27 September 2021. Other officials associated with this scheme will also be present on this occasion.

Apart from this, the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister will also interact with the beneficiaries of the scheme on this occasion. The third edition of NHA Annual Report 2020-21 will also be released by Mansukh Mandaviya. Apart from this, awards will also be given to the best performing states and union territories under this scheme. Hospital Helpdesk Kiosk, Beneficiary Facilitation Agency, PMJAY Command Center and Nudge Unit, PMJAY Technology Platform will also be launched by Manavya on the occasion. With this initiative, health services will be delivered to the beneficiaries in a better way.

Some other programs will be organized after the inaugural session

Aapke Dwar Ayushman Drive was also launched to take the benefits of this scheme to all the eligible citizens. Through this campaign, about 3 crore beneficiaries have been verified through door to door campaign. 16.50 crore beneficiaries have been identified in the last 3 years. The inaugural session will also be followed by a technical session on Universal Health Care Coverage Improvements and Challenges. The theme of the technical session will be Health Insurance Penetration to Cover the Missing Middle through Convergence of National Skills. This session will be held on 25 September 2021. Another session titled Health Care through Digital Transformation will be held on the same day.

26400 crores spent in the operation of the scheme

Ayushman Bharat Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 23 September 2018. So that universal health coverage can be achieved. Through this scheme health insurance coverage of ₹ 500000 is provided to 10.74 crore families of the country. This scheme is being operated in 33 states and union territories. About 2 crore treatments have been done since the inception of this scheme. For which an amount of Rs 26400 crore has been spent by the government. 24000 hospitals have been empaneled under this scheme. Which is public and private. There are 918 health benefit packages under Ayushman Bharat scheme in which 1669 are procedures. The beneficiary can also get the treatment of Kovid-19 through this scheme.

Apart from this, the treatment of orthopedics, cardiology, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, radiation, oncology, urology etc. has also been covered under this scheme. All eligible beneficiaries are being covered under this scheme by the government.

Dental treatment under Ayushman Bharat scheme

While starting the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana , dental treatment was included under this scheme. But after some time the treatment of teeth was taken out of this scheme by the government. After which only a few surgical dental treatments were covered under this scheme. The Dental Council of India was continuously demanding from the Ministry of Health to include dental treatment under the scheme. Keeping this demand in view, now the government is now considering to include dental treatment under this scheme.

• The National Health Authority has sought suggestions from the Dental Council of India on incorporating different types of dental treatment. These suggestions have been sought through a letter. In which the National Health Authority has sought a list of treatments from the Dental Council of India which can be included under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
• Soon a meeting of National Health Authority and Dental Council of India will also be organized in this regard. In this meeting, the inclusion of dental package under the scheme will be discussed. Generally all routine dental treatment can be covered under this plan. Such as dental implants, tooth extraction to tooth fracture, tooth repair, oral cancer, bacterial endocarditis, pyorrhea etc.

New scheme will be launched to prevent corona virus infection in Madhya Pradesh

In view of the Coronavirus infection, it has been decided by the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan that now the facility of free treatment will be provided to the corona virus infected citizens of Madhya Pradesh. For which a new scheme will be implemented by the government. Under this scheme, free treatment facility will be provided to the poor and middle class citizens of the state. A special package will be provided to private hospitals of Ayushman Bharat scheme for this scheme . Which will be contracted by the state government for the treatment of Kovid. A meeting was held by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on 6 May 2021 with the Corona Control Core Group through video conferencing. In this meeting, it has been decided to start this scheme. Under this scheme CT scan, medicine, oxygen, consultation fee etc. will be provided.

Treatment of infected citizens under Ayushman Bharat scheme in MP

In Madhya Pradesh, 2 crore 42 lakh cards have been made under the Ayushman Bharat scheme . Under which 88% of the population has been covered. All these card holders can get free treatment for corona virus infection. There are 382 private hospitals empaneled under Ayushman Bharat scheme. In these 23946 beds are available. On May 5, 2021, 68 private hospitals have been empaneled for 3 months under the Ayushman Bharat scheme by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. The collector of each district has been given the right by the government to temporarily empaneled private hospital in his district under Ayushman Bharat Yojana . So that free treatment of infected citizens can be done in private hospitals of each district.

If one member of the family has the card of Ayushman Bharat Scheme, other members will be able to avail benefits (Madhya Pradesh)

Another important decision has been taken by the Madhya Pradesh government. Under which if any member of the family has a card of Ayushman Bharat Yojana , then other members of the family can also get the facility of free treatment of coronavirus infection. If there is a situation of hospitalization if infected, then arrangements will also be made to make Ayushman card by the collector of the district. The rates of Ayushman Bharat package have been increased by 40% by the Madhya Pradesh government in view of the coronavirus infection. In which room rent, food, consultation fee, check-up, paramedical fee etc. are included.

Financial assistance of ₹ 5000 for advanced diagnostics if infected with corona virus (Madhya Pradesh)

Many times advanced diagnostics are needed to get treatment for coronavirus infection. For which fee has to be paid. ₹5000 will now be provided by the Madhya Pradesh government to each beneficiary for advanced diagnostics. So that the citizens of the state are not deprived of advanced diagnostics for getting treatment. After the implementation of this scheme, 60915 beds will be available in the state. Of these, 37159 beds will be available in government hospitals, 3675 beds will be available in contracted hospitals and 20081 beds will be made available in contracted private hospitals under Ayushman Bharat.

Ayushman CAPF Health Insurance Scheme

On the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Ayushman CAPF health insurance scheme has been started by the Home Minister of our country Amit Shah. Under this scheme, health insurance will be provided by the central government to the personnel of all the powerful police forces of the country. Every police personnel will be able to take advantage of this health insurance. Under this scheme 28 lakh police personnel of CAPF, Assam Rifle and National Security Guard and their families have been covered. Under Ayushman CAPF health insurance scheme , 10 lakh jawans and 50 lakh people of officers and their families are also covered. All these people will be able to get their treatment free of cost in 24000 hospitals of the country.

• This scheme has been started under Ayushman Bharat: Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. On this occasion, the Home Minister distributed Ayushman health cards to the personnel of 7 centrally empowered police forces.
• On this occasion, the Home Minister also appreciated the police personnel for fighting against coronavirus. He told that many jawans got infected with the virus and also lost their lives. He congratulated all the soldiers on their successful victory in this battle.
• With this, an MoU was signed between the National Health Authority and the Union Ministry on the CRPF Group Center. Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, Chief Minister of Assam Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of State for Home Shri Nityanand Rai and Health Minister of Assam Shri Himanta Biswa were present during this process.

Ayushman Bharat scheme launched in Telangana

Ayushman Bharat Yojana is one of the ambitious schemes of the central government. Through this scheme health insurance up to ₹ 500000 is provided to all the beneficiaries. The treatment of Kovid-19 is also covered under this scheme. Now this scheme will be operated in Telangana by the Government of Telangana. For this an MoU has been signed by the Telangana Health Department with the National Health Authority.

• This move of the Telangana government will now help the state fight the Kovid-19 crisis in a better way. Because now the cost of medicines required for oxygen supply and Kovid-19 treatment will be covered under this scheme.
•  More than 10.74 crore poor and vulnerable families will be provided benefits through this scheme. The decision to implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Telangana was taken by the Telangana government in December 2020.
• The MoU for this has been signed on 18 May 2021. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has directed all the officers to ensure medical services as per the guidelines of the scheme.

PMJAY Sehat Health Insurance Scheme

Sehat Health Insurance Scheme has been started for the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir by Prime Minister Narendra Modi . This scheme has been launched by the government under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Earlier all the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir were not able to take advantage of the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Only 600000 families of the state were able to take advantage of this scheme. But now under the Health Health Insurance Scheme, 2100000 families of the state will be able to take advantage of health insurance. The special feature of the Sehat Health Insurance Scheme is that every citizen of Jammu and Kashmir will be able to take advantage of this scheme. Whereas only the families coming below the poverty line of the country can avail the benefit of Ayushman Bharat scheme. Under this scheme, a health cover of ₹ 500000 will be provided by the government.

• Sehat health insurance scheme is only for the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir. Now all those people who were not able to get health insurance under Ayushman Bharat scheme will get health insurance. Under the Sehat Bima Yojana, 229 government hospitals and 35 private hospitals are registered in Jammu and Kashmir.
• Now the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir can go to any empaneled hospital in the country to get their treatment done and get their treatment done free of cost. This scheme has been started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conferencing. In video conferencing, the Prime Minister spoke directly to the beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat scheme and he also explained the benefits of health insurance scheme through this video conferencing.
