Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay State Employees Cashless Medical Scheme has been launched by the Uttar Pradesh government . Through this scheme, the facility of cashless treatment up to ₹ 500000 will be provided to the state employees and pensioners. The mandate to implement this scheme has been issued by the Uttar Pradesh government on 7 January 2022. Apart from this, the order to implement this scheme has been issued by Amit Mohan Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health, Government of Uttar Pradesh. Through this scheme, the facility of cashless treatment will be provided to the state employees, pensioners and their family members.

• To get the benefit of this scheme, online state health card will be made. This card will be made by the State Agency for Health Integrated Services.
• It will be the responsibility of all the department heads that they should take care that the state health card of the personnel and pensioners of their department is made.
• Apart from this, all those private hospitals which are treating patients under Ayushman Bharat scheme have also been provided this facility.

The benefit of this scheme will also be provided through government medical institutions, private hospitals, medical colleges of the state. A corpus of Rs 200 crore for medical institutions and medical colleges and Rs 100 crore for district hospitals has been created by the Medical Education Department. Through the corpus fund, the government hospital will have to pay 50% of the cost of treatment. The remaining 50% amount will be provided by the Finance Department on providing the utilization certificate. Along with the facility of this treatment, the option of getting medical reimbursement after treatment according to the present arrangement will also be provided. More than 30 lakh citizens will be benefited through this scheme .

Implementation of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay State Employees Skill Medical Scheme

• Under this scheme, provision of corpus fund will be made to provide cashless medical facility to the government employees of Uttar Pradesh and dependent members of their families.
• On production of useful certificates, additional funds can be demanded from the Finance Department if 50% of the allocated amount of advance corpus fund to be used at the time of treatment remains.
• There is no maximum limit for cashless facility.
• The beneficiary will be identified with the help of State Health Card.
• After identification, after getting them admitted in the hospital, free medical treatment will be provided.
• The bill will be clubbed with the funds provided to the hospital.
• Procedures, tests and necessary medicines will be provided to the beneficiary in the treatment.
• Billing of medicines which are being used as food articles, tonics or toiletries will not be allowed. The payment of such medicines will be made by the beneficiary himself.
