| J&K Ration Card List 2021: Online Application Form PDF Download – The Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs is entrusted with the responsibility of distribution of essential commodities namely Rice, Wheat, Sugar, Kerosene Oil under the Public Distribution System. The Department implemented the National Food Security Act, 2013 in whole of the J&K State with effect from 1st of Feb, 2016 with the objective to provide access to adequate quantity of quality food at affordable prices.Currently, foodgrains are received by the State from the Government of India, for distribution among the AAY, Priority Household (PHH) and Non-priority Households (NPHH). The Department also plays an active role in managing the supplies of other essential commodities.Application FeesThere is no application form filling fee and there is no requirement to pay any fees while applying online for new ration card in Jammu & Kashmir. However, applicants can collect their ration cards from the concerned authorities on making a payment of Rs. 5 per copy.Timelines for Issuing Ration Card in Jammu & KashmirAll the applicants can submit the complete Jammu & Kashmir Ration Card online application form and new ration cards would be issued within 15 days of submission of application. Types of Ration Card (Ration Card Types) Issued by Jammu Kashmir Govt.
Ration Card is an essential document for the APL / BPL people to take benefits of most govt. schemes in Jammu & Kashmir. It is important to note that ration card holders only can purchase Ration at subsidized rates from Ration Shops located nearby.
Ration cards have been divided into three categories in Jammu Kashmir.
- APL Ration Card – APL Ration Card has been issued for the families of the state who are living above the poverty line. APL rations are provided to these families of the state by the state government, through these APL rations, people of the state can get grains up to 15 kg per month at subsidized rates from the ration shop.
- BPL Ration Card – BPL Ration Card has been issued for the families of the state who are living below the poverty line. The annual income of BPL families should not exceed 10000. Through this ration card, people of the state can buy up to 25 kg of food grains at cheaper rates at ration shops.
- AAY Ration Card – AAY Ration Card has been issued for those families who are very poor and have no income. Ration cards are issued on the basis of the income of the people. Through this ration card, a family can buy up to 35 kg of grain at a cheaper rate from the ration shop every month.

Jammu and Kashmir has types of ration card according to category of citizen like any other state. Hence, the colors are also allotted according to the type of ration card.
