AP Chief Minister YS Jagan has introduced many schemes for the people. As part of this, the interest money of the beneficiaries will be credited to the bank accounts as part of the ‘Jagannanna Thodu’ scheme introduced by the government. On Wednesday morning, Chief Minister YS Jagan will disburse Rs. 16.36 crore to the beneficiaries’ accounts virtually.

The state government has so far provided Rs 950 crore for 9.05 lakh people. The first tranche will benefit 4.5 lakh small traders who have taken loans under the scheme and repaid them on time.

Interest-free loans up to Rs 10,000 will be provided to small and petty vendors under the scheme and nearly 10 lakh vendors have applied to avail the scheme. The Chief Minister will release Rs 1,000 crore and the amount will be directly credited into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

Referring to the YSR Jagananna Thodu, the self-employment programme, the collectors informed the chief minister that around 9.69 lakh beneficiaries have been identified. The scheme is to be launched on November 25. The project will cost Rs. 474 crores while the authorities have identified 9.08 lakh beneficiaries under the scheme so far. However, those who did not apply could apply at the relevant village and ward secretariats.

The Applicant must be a permanent resident of Andhra Pradesh.The small trader must be over 18 years of age.The Applicant’s Family income should be less than Rs.10,000 in villages and less than Rs.12,000 in towns.Vegetables, fruits, ready-to-eat street food, tea, pakodas, bread, eggs, textile, artisan products, books/ stationery sellers are eligible under the AP Jagananna Thodu Scheme 2022.Must have Aadhaar, Voter Card or any other identity card issued by the Government.Barbershops, cobblers, pan shops, laundry services are also included in the street vendors category and can avail of a loan of Rs. 10,000/- under this Scheme.People having permanent or temporary shops in villages or towns with a space of 5 feet long, 5 feet or less are eligible to apply under this scheme.Those who trade on bicycles, motorcycles and autos from one place to another are also eligible.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government, which has been implementing welfare schemes since coming to power, is all set to launch another new scheme to provide financial assistance to small scale street businesses across the state especially to those engaged in traditional occupations.The scheme will provide loans of Rs 10,000 to small traders selling on footpaths, street goods and groceries.The AP government’s ‘Jagannanna Thodu’ scheme seeks to help small traders who are struggling with high-interest rates.The scheme aims at helping traders, vendors and artisans who find it difficult to repay high-interest loans that they take to keep their businesses afloat.

Interest-free term loan of Rs 10,000 per year would be extended to the hawkers, street vendors, and artisans engaged in traditional handicrafts through banks.The scheme will benefit those who sell the groceries at footpaths, carts on the streets, various items on bicycles, vegetables, fruits, those who make a living by selling as well as those who run tiffin centers along the road, and those who sell various items on stalls or baskets.The government will  pay the interest of the loans taken by the vendors from banks.As many as 1,44,486 vegetable vendors applied for Jagananna Thodu, followed by 1,24,735 small Kirana traders, 85,330 tiffin-shop vendors, 26,024 roadside bunk traders, 26,024 small fancy shop traders, and nearly four lakh other petty traders and vendors.The beneficiaries will also be provided with QR-based smart ID cards and the scheme will be monitored by SERP, MEPMA officials.
