Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana
This scheme has been started by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan Shri Ashok Gehlot on 9th June 2021. Through Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana , subsidy is provided on electricity bills to metered farmer consumers of the state. This grant amount is maximum ₹ 1000 per month and maximum ₹ 12000 per year. Under this scheme, electricity bill will be issued to all eligible agricultural consumers by Vidyut Vitran Nigam on the basis of bi-monthly billing system. 60% amount of electricity bill is payable every month on pro-rata basis. This amount is maximum ₹ 1000 per month. The benefit of Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Energy Scheme will start getting to all the farmer consumers from May 2021. 1450 crores will be spent by the government for the implementation of this scheme.
Chief Minister Kisan Mitra Energy Scheme launched
Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Energy Yojana has been launched by Rajasthan Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot on 17th July 2021 . This launch has been done through video conferencing. Through this video conferencing, various schemes of Energy Department costing Rs 308 crore have also been inaugurated by the Chief Minister . Through this scheme, a grant of ₹ 1000 per month will be provided by the government to the farmers on the electricity bill. This grant will be distributed directly in the bank account of the farmer. The benefit of this scheme will be provided on electricity bill from May 2021. Information has also been provided by the Chief Minister that by the year 2024, the target of solar energy will also be fulfilled.
In which the target has been set to generate 20000 MW of electricity. Through the Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojna , agricultural electricity will become almost free for the small and middle class farmers. Under this scheme, an amount of Rs 1450 crore will be spent annually by the government.

Purpose of Chief Minister Kisan Mitra Energy Scheme
The main objective of Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana 2021 is to provide subsidy on electricity bill to the farmers. Through this scheme, maximum grant amount of 1000 rupees per month will be provided to farmers on electricity bills. So that farmers will get help in paying their bills. Apart from this, farmers will also be encouraged to save electricity through Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana . Dues against beneficiary in Electricity Distribution Corporation
The benefit of this scheme can be availed by the farmer consumer only when there is no arrears against the beneficiary in the Electricity Distribution Corporation. In the event of arrears, if the agricultural consumer pays the dues, then in this situation the subsidy amount will be payable in the upcoming electricity bill. Apart from this, if there is less use of electricity by a farmer and his electricity bill is less than ₹ 1000, then the difference between the bill amount and the grant amount will be deposited in the beneficiary’s account. So that farmers can be encouraged to save consumer electricity. The benefit of Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Energy Scheme cannot be availed by the employees of the Central and State Governments. To get the benefit of this scheme, it will be mandatory for the beneficiary to link his Aadhaar number with the bank account.
Announcement made in the budget for the year 2021-22
While announcing the budget for the year 2021-22 by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Ashok Gehlot, it was announced to provide grant amount of ₹ 1000 per month and ₹ 12000 per year to rural agricultural consumers of general category. This announcement was made only for those agricultural consumers whose bill comes from metering. Keeping this announcement in mind, a provision of Rs 750 crore was also included in the tariff subsidy head by the Vidyut Vitran Nigam. This provision has been set for transfer of grant money.
