40 lakh jobs provided through the scheme

Extension of last date of registration

71.80 lakh employees will be given the benefit of the scheme

On 28 June 2021 by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the scope of Self-Reliant India Employment Scheme has been extended till 30 March 2022. This scheme was started from 1 October 2020 to 30 June 2021. Now this scheme will be operated till 30 March 2022. The last date to register under this scheme is 30 July 2021. Employers will be encouraged to create employment through the Atmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana. This incentive will be done by the government by depositing the Provident Fund contribution of the employee and the employer. If there are more than 1000 employees in an organization, then in this situation only the employee contribution will be deposited by the government.

The benefit of this scheme will be provided for 2 years to all those employees whose monthly income is less than ₹ 15000 or ₹ 15000. A total amount of Rs 22810 crore will be spent by the government for the operation of this scheme. So that 58.50 lakh beneficiaries will be benefited from this scheme. An amount of Rs 902 crore has been spent till 18 June 2021 to benefit 21.42 lakh beneficiaries of 79577 institutions .

21 lakh employees got new jobs

So far Rs 22810 crore has been spent under the Self-Reliant India Employment Scheme . Due to which 21 lakh new employees have been appointed. The benefit of this scheme can be availed only by those employees whose monthly income is less than ₹ 15000 and they were not working before 1 October 2020 in any such organization which is registered with EPFO. Apart from this, it is also mandatory for the employees to have a UAN number. If the salary of an employee is less than ₹ 15000 and he is a member of EPFO, then he will be provided the benefit of this scheme only if he has lost his job between 1 May 2020 to 30 September 2020. During this period the employee should not be associated with any company which is registered with EPFO.

16.5 lakh beneficiaries got the benefit of the scheme
